Another "Repeat Offender

ACF AoE & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Asmara Remy Martin, Christine Mangin's Tawny neuter, was Best Gr 3 Desexed Cat in show (out of 7) in all three rings of the Balinese & Siamese show in Brisbane. He repeated this performance (out of 6) at the season-ending FCCQ Grand Finale 2007 show, where he was also Supreme Exhibit out ofRemy, who is from Gold Dbl Gr Ch Alazar Fidelio and Asmara Crown Of Ishoa, will be Desexed Cat of the Year with one of the Queensland councils; he was also runner-up to Gr 3 Kitten of the Year in 2007.

Rebel

Helen Norwood's Tawny male kitten, Jodaerin Rebel Heart, was Best overall Kitten in Show out of 19, at the COAWA Halloween show on in Perth on 28 October, and was also best Aby/Somali exhibit out of 16 the ring, out of 96. Rebel comes from a mating of Johari Kashmir Khan and Sapphire Gr Ch Taliz Cracklin Rosie

Alpha to Omega

Ending the show year just as he started, G. & J. Kennedy's Tawny male, CCCA Dbl Gr Ch & Diamond Dbl Gr Ch Nile Phantom Of Hope was Best Gr 3 Cat (out of 48) at the Blue Mountains show on 28 October, and was also best Gr 3 Exhibit in the ring, out of 96. Now 3, he by (US) Ch Unkamen Territory (Imp USA), out of CCCA Ch & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Nile Sabrina Fair.

In Sydney - But Not Much Longer

George & Julie Kennedy's Tawny male kitten, Nile David Becks, will be off to the US in November. Meanwhile, he is enjoying being shown in NSW, and has a number of firsts to his name, including at the Highlands show on 13 October, where he was best Gr 3 kitten (out of 31) in one ring, and then runner-up to supreme kitten out of 52. This was awarded by judge Barbara La Rocca, with whom he is shown below. Becks is from Nat Sh Ch, CCCA Dbl Gr Ch & Diamond Dbl Gr Ch Nile Phantom Of Hope and Dbl Gr Ch Nile Toccata.

A New One In Adelaide

Anne Kirtland is relatively new to Aby breeding, and now a Tawny female kitten of her breeding, Charlbury Faberge Dream, has been best Gr 3 kitten in both rings of not just one show, but two. Born in late April, "the Fabby Aby" was best out of 18 at the Northern Districts show in mid August, and then out of 13 at the Siamese show on 30 September. Faberge Dream comes from the mating of Osiris(V) Dream Catcher and Osiris(V) Serendipity, both owned by Anne.

Back In Brisbane

Kerstin Jones's Tawny male, ACF AoE & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Zinnabar Blackberry, was best cat (out of 19) and best Exhibit (out of 51) in one ring of the Abyssinian show in Sydney on 26 August. Back home in Brisbane, on 9 September, he was best SH cat (out of 39) and R/U to best SH exhibit (out of 92) at the Sunshine Coast show. Blackberry sire & dam are ACF AoE, CCCA Ch & Plat Dbl Gr Ch Alazar Harry Potter and Gold Dbl Gr Ch Zinnabar Apple'n'Cinnamon.

Noddy

At the Illawarra show on 9 September, Nile To Travel Hopefully, George & Julie Kennedy's Tawny neuter, was best Gr 3 desexed cat out of 12 in two of the three rings. These wins enabled him to become a CCCA Gr Ch and a NSW CFA Diamond Dbl Gr Ch. He is called "Noddy" because his litter brother, Phantom, has Big Ears. They are both from (US) Ch Unkamen Territory (Imp USA) and CCCA Ch & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Nile Sabrina Fair.

You Can't Keep A Good Bear Down

Following her good performance at the CCCA National (see below), Sue Jentsch's Tawny female cat, Osiris(V) Running Bear, came to Sydney and starred at the Abyssinian show on 26 August, where she was Best Cat & Best Exhibit in two rings, and 3rd in each in the remaining ring. She is shown here with her owner/breeder and Karen Moore, one of the judges who put her up, in a photo taken by Wendy Newton. Running Bear is from Ch Osiris(V) Chief Redbull  and Ch Tijah Influence.

A New Queenslander

Dbl Gr Ch Asmara Remy Martin, a Tawny neuter belonging to Christine Mangin in Brisbane, became a cat only in July, but has already had seven Best in Show wins, including in one ring of the Abyssinian show in Sydney on 26 August, and one ring of the West Moreton show in Brisbane on 2 September. Remy is from Gold Dbl Gr Ch Alazar Fidelio and Asmara Crown Of Ishoa.

Not just Lucky, but Good

Sue Jentsch's Tawny neuter, CCCA Gr Ch & Gold PN Osiris(V) Man I'M Lucky, was Best Gr 3 Neuter in one ring and second in the other at the Shorthair Cat Club show in Melbourne on 24-Jun-07, and went on to be Supreme SH Exhibit at the show out of 113. He followed this up with a first in one ring and second in the other, out of 11, at the Warrnambool Agricultural show on 5-Aug-07, at which the photo below was taken "Mannie" is from Tolee Soon Of Tushratta and Ch Osiris(V) Lady Luck.

Another Youngster

Sue Jentsch's Tawny female kitten, Osiris(V) Running Bear, almost started this column with an early kitten win (see bottom of page). Now, at just a couple of days after becoming a cat, she was R/U to best Gr 3 Cat (out of 95) at the CCCA National show in Melbourne on 21/22 July. The  splendid photo below was taken by Kaylie Goodrick. Running Bear's sire and dam are Ch Osiris(V) Chief Redbull  and Ch Tijah Influence.

Repeating himself

Having got Best in Show wins in Sydney and Canberra this year, G. & J. Kennedy's Tawny male, CCCA Dbl Gr Ch & Diamond Dbl Gr Ch Nile Phantom Of Hope took on Melbourne, and came away with Best Gr 3 Cat wins (out of 95) in two of the six rings at the CCCA National Show on July 21/22. In one of the rings he was also Best Gr 3 Exhibit out of 205, and in the process became the first entire Aby National Show Champion in the country. He comes from the mating of (US) Ch Unkamen Territory (Imp USA) and CCCA Ch & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Nile Sabrina Fair.

But He Is Still a Kitten!

In an uncanny parallel to Carol Collins's Blazer below, her young Tawny male kitten, Johari Soul Mate, was Best Gr 3 Kitten win out of 56, in one ring of the St George show on 15 July, and then went on to be 3rd overall kitten in show out of 98. Soul Mate is from Gr Ch Johari Africander and Gr Ch Johari Spirit Of Kenya.

He's A Cat, Now

Carol Collins's Tawny male cat, Tijah Trail Blazer (see below), started what promises to become an excellent cat career with a Best Gr 3 Cat win out of 42, in one ring of the the St George District Cat Club show on 15 July. He then went on to be 3rd overall cat in show out of 73. Blazer is from (US) Ch Unkamen Ravenheart and Tijah Chanel. He certainly started as a cat the way he left off as a kitten!

Starting Off A Career In NSW

George & Julie Kennedy's Tawny girl, Nile Xena's Paradox, celebrated the start of her cat career with two Best Gr 3 Female Cat wins out of the three rings at the Federal Cat Club's show on 17 June, beating 21 other contenders. Xena is from CCCA Dbl Gr Ch & Diamond Dbl Gr Ch Nile Phantom Of Hope and Menelik Princess Xena (Imp NZ); in those two rings, she also beat her dad for Best Aby/Somali Cat.

Topping Off A Career In NSW

Carol Collins's Tawny male kitten, Tijah Trail Blazer, finished an excellent kitten career with two Best Gr 3 Male Kitten wins out of the three rings, at the Federal Cat Club's show on 17 June, beating 23 other contenders. He then went on to be 4th overall kitten in show out of 124. Blazer is from (US) Ch Unkamen Ravenheart and Tijah Chanel. He celebrated the win by becoming a cat the following day!

Now There Is Even One In Tassie...

... but he doesn't come from there! Helen Norwood and her Tawny male kitten,  Jodaerin Armani, went all the way from Perth to Hobart, to the ACF National Show on 10 June, where Armani was Best Gr 3 Exhibit in Show out of 81. He is shown here sitting in one of his trophies. He is is from Gr Ch Johari Africander and Gr Ch Taliz Cracklin Rosie, and indeed is the litter brother of Jodaerin Annilese, who appears toward the bottom of this page. She made her mark on the Perth show bench during the early part of this season, which Armani had to sit out because of a broken hind leg, which required pinning and wiring.

Armani then went back to Perth and was Supreme Exhibit out of 115 at the FCC of WA show on 17 June. That's why there are TWO photos of him below.

     

In the ACT and NSW Another "Serial Pest"

At the Abyssinian Breeder show in Canberra on 19-May-07, George & Julie Kennedy's Tawny male,  CCCA Gr Ch & Diamond Dbl Gr Ch Nile Phantom Of Hope, was Supreme Cat and Supreme Exhibit out of 59 Abys and Somalis. Then, on 26 May, at the Siamese Cat Soc. Show in Sydney, he was Supreme Exhibit again, this time out of 172. Phantom's sire is (US) Ch Unkamen Territory while his dam is CCCA Ch & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Nile Sabrina Fair. Steward Chris Buckley is holding him in the photo.

A South Australian Couple (of Somalis)

In his first adult appearance - at the British Breeds show in Adelaide on 20 May - Evelyn & Rita Bruche's Tawny Somali male, Vivace Virtuoso, was was best Gr 3 cat out of 23 in one ring, and fourth in the other. He is from two Danish imports, Dushara Gone Walkabout and Dushara Surprise Symphony. "Zozo" is shown here with Vivace Liberace, the Bruche's Tawny Somali male who was best Gr 3 kitten in one ring and second in the other, at the same show.  Liberace is also from Dushara Gone Walkabout (Imp DNK) but his dam is Ikati Big Spender.

"A Persistent Offender"

It seems that Sue Jentsch's Tawny female kitten, Osiris(V) Running Bear, just can't help herself. In addition to her wins earlier in the season, at the bottom of this page, she was  best Gr 3 kitten out of 40 in one ring of the FCCV Open show  on 6 May. She is from Ch Osiris(V) Chief Redbull  and Ch Tijah Influence.

Queensland Again

Kerstin Jones's Cinnamon neuter,  Brz Dbl Gr Ch Zinnabar Dobby, was best Gr 3 desexed cat in one ring of the QICC Domestic Bliss show  on 6 May. A litter brother of Blackberry (see below) Dobby also came from a mating of ACF AoE, CCCA Ch & Plat Dbl Gr Ch Alazar Harry Potter and Gold Dbl Gr Ch Zinnabar Apple'n'Cinnamon.

"Hazy" Does It Again

Evelyn & Rita Bruche's Silver Somali spay, CCCA Ch & Gold Gr Ch Vivace Hazy Shade Of Winter [Dushara Silver Catch Who Can (Imp DNK) X Dushara Dirty Woman] was Best Gr 3 Desexed Cat out of 20 in the one ring of the FCSA Golden Jubilee Show in Adelaide on 15-Apr-07. She went on to be Supreme Exhibit in Show out of 264.

Back in Queensland

Kerstin Jones's Tawny male,  Ch Zinnabar Blackberry, was best Gr 3 male cat in one ring of the QICC Gold Coast Show on 11 February (out of 14), and again at their March Madness show on 11 March, this time out of 18. However, it has taken Kerstin until now to get him to keep still long enough to be photographed. Blackberry comes from a mating of ACF AoE, CCCA Ch & Plat Dbl Gr Ch Alazar Harry Potter and Gold Dbl Gr Ch Zinnabar Apple'n'Cinnamon.

At the Kempsey Kat Klub show on 10-Mar-07, George & Julie Kennedy's Tawny male,  CCCA Gr Ch & Diamond Dbl Gr Ch Nile Phantom Of Hope, was best Gr 3 male cat in all three rings, R/U to best Gr 3 cat in the first two, and best Gr 3 cat (out of 15) in ring 3, in which he was also Best Gr 3 Exhibit (out of 73). Phantom's sire is (US) Ch Unkamen Territory while his dam is CCCA Ch & Gold Dbl Gr Ch Nile Sabrina Fair.

... With Western Australia not far behind

In what has to be a multiple "first", Jodaerin Annilese, a Tawny female kitten from the first Aby litter bred by Helen Norwood in Perth, at her first show, came first in the first two rings of the first WA show of the year, the Feline All Breeds show on 4 March. "Annie" is from Gr Ch Johari Africander and Gr Ch Taliz Cracklin Rosie.

Jodaerin Annilese now has a "second first", in that she was best overall kitten out of 47 and Supreme Exhibit out of 83 at her second show, whose abridged name is Birman, Rex & Others/Southern Siamese Kitten and Desexed Show

... Here comes South Australia

Three of Evelyn & Rita Bruche's Somalis more or less took over The 3-ring Summer Show in Adelaide on 25 February   Vivace Liberace, Tawny Somali male below left, was Best Gr 3 Kitten in Ring 1, out of 24. He is from Dushara Gone Walkabout (Imp DNK) and Ikati Big Spender. In Ring 2, another Tawny Somali male, Liberace's half-brother (same sire, dam Dushara Surprise Symphony (Imp DNK), Vivace Virtuoso, took his turn be Best Gr 3 Kitten. He appear on the right, right next to the Bruches' Silver Somali spay, CCCA Ch & Gold Gr Ch Vivace Hazy Shade Of Winter [Dushara Silver Catch Who Can (Imp DNK) X Dushara Dirty Woman]. "Hazy" was Best Gr 3 Desexed Cat out of 13 in rings 2 & 3, and 4th in Ring 1.

Sue Jentsch's  Osiris(V) Running Bear, above, was Best Gr 3 Kitten and Supreme Exhibit in Rings 1 & 3 at the CAV show in Melbourne on 18-Feb-07, out of 82. In Ring 2, it was the turn of Sue's Tawny male, Osiris(V) Rocketman, to be Best Gr 3 Kitten and Supreme Exhibit. He is from Ch Osiris(V) Chief Redbull and Osiris(V) Baby Blue. In the photo below, Rocketman is on the left and Running Bear is on the right.

Sue Jentsch's Tawny female kitten, Osiris(V) Running Bear. At the Melbourne Animal Pet Expo on 2/4-Feb-07, she was Best Gr 3 Kitten in two rings and Supreme Gr 3 Exhibit in one of them, as well as placing in the top 5 in the other three rings. The photo shows her "recuperating" after the show at home. Running Bear's sire and dam are Ch Osiris(V) Chief Redbull  and Ch Tijah Influence.

Julia Koppe's Tawny female cat, Lear Tiger Bright, who, at 9 months, was Supreme Shorthair Cat and Supreme Shorthair Exhibit at the Gold Coast Cat Club show in S.E. Queensland on 3-Feb-07.
